2019 ADVANCED SUMMER TRAININGS
MASTER AT ARMS (MAA)
The objective of MAA is to provide for the cadet who has successfully completed Recruit Training the skills, awareness, and responsibilities of the Master-At-Arms.
Training will include: understanding of UCMJ, proper and safe handling of weapons, self defense, basic weapons tactical movements, handcuff practical, traffic stops and practical, Forward Operating Base (FOB) training, Active Shooter training, and active shooter drills.
We strive to provide the cadet with the confidence that will build and carry within his/her time within the Naval Sea Cadet Corps.
FIELD MEDICINE / FIELD OPS (FM/FO)
The mission of Field Medical / Field Ops is to introduce the cadet to basic medical training in the field, basic weapons safety, and basic weapons tactical movements. Instruction will include CPR & First Aid certification, sanitation, trauma, anatomy, physiology, field medical, tactical movements, weapons safety, active shooter, and active shooter drills.
PETTY OFFICER LEADERSHIP ACADEMY (POLA)
This leadership training will be an exciting and challenging experience for all cadets. You will definitely be challenged academically, mentally, and physically, throughout the week-long course. This course is designed to test your abilities and provide you will the tools to become a successful leader in the NSCC. You will receive classroom instruction in the different facets of being an effective leader and in developing your leadership style. Cadets will be challenged academically, mentally, and physically, throughout the week-long course. Instruction includes team building, effective communication, conflict resolution, stress management, and counseling with daily quizzes. Cadets will have the opportunity to participate in role-playing, small group presentations, and oral boards. There will be much information to pass and little time to pass it so you must manage your time wisely. You will be expected to participate in lectures and various classroom projects. Along with classroom instruction, you will also be required to memorize important pieces of indoctrination critical to your development as a leader.
CULINARY ARTS (CS)
Cadets will be learning how to prepare a fine dining menu, food safety and handling, place settings, etc. This is a unique experience for cadets to learn how to prepare a 5 star meal from start to finish.
Cadets will be learning the basic about Photo taking (Lighting, Background and so on). They will also be working with writing articles to explain and bring their photos to life. ALSO they will be learning how to create photo galleries on this website and create blog posts. This a meant to be an entry level training to learn the overall basics of a photojournalist.
